Which microscopes are compatible with MAKSA?▼
Any standard bright-field microscope at 100–200x magnification. No special equipment needed — a basic $200 microscope and a smartphone are enough. Phase contrast microscopes are not compatible.
What affects the accuracy of results?▼
Video quality is the key factor. Unstable footage, incorrect magnification, or wrong dilution factor reduce accuracy: garbage in = garbage out. The model was trained specifically on real field conditions, not ideal lab footage — so MAKSA is resilient to real-world environments. For concentration, correct dilution protocol matters.
Can MAKSA be used for post-thaw semen checks?▼
Yes, that's exactly what MAKSA is built for. Post-thaw evaluation is the critical moment: you have 5 minutes after thawing to make a decision on a $1,000–$2,000 batch. A lab takes 3–7 days. MAKSA delivers results in 30–60 seconds right in the field.
I already evaluate semen under a microscope — why do I need MAKSA?▼
Subjective evaluation is not reproducible: a 2025 study showed 14.7% variation between specialists on the same sample.
